bafureira sushi

Sushi is definitely one of my favorite foods, and thankfully there are so many great places to eat sushi in Lisbon. In the past few years, there’s been a rise in the number of sushi restaurants in the Portuguese capital.

Nowadays, you can find everything: high-end sushi places managed by famous chefs (example: Gojuu), to nice buffet places (like the ones I’m sharing with you in this post).

If you’re spending a few days in Lisbon and still have space in your stomach to try some sushi, after all the amazing Portuguese food you’ve had, then check out this post! I put together my three favorite sushi buffet restaurants and they’re not that expensive.

Bafureira Sushi

Sushi Bafureira comes first because it’s my favorite from the three!

It’s not in the center of Lisbon, it’s in Parede (Cascais) but definitely worth the ride. It’s only 20 minutes away from Lisbon, but you’ll be having really good sushi with one of the best views and, of course, good service.

The restaurant is on a cliff and beneath there’s Bafureira beach, so the view is breathtaking. I recommend going there during sunset. If the weather is nice, you can even sit on the balcony and have dinner next to the waves with the smell of the sea.

They give you three starters: dumplings, salmon and tuna ceviche and miso soup with salmon and ginger. The starters are included in the price and are delicious, but the best comes next.

There’s a huge variety of sushi and you can personalize your order. Because it’s a buffet (although you have the à la carte option), you can ask for whatever you want. The hot rolls are splendid and the fish is so fresh.

They also have a really good selection of wines. I recommend choosing Quinta da Aveleda wines, they pair really well with the sushi!

Price: 22,50€ per person (buffet) – only on Wednesdays and Sundays

Address: Bafureira Beach Club, Praia da Bafureira, Avenida Marginal, Parede, Cascais 2775-239

Sushisan Saldanha

Sushisan is a pretty famous sushi chain restaurant, and there plenty of venues in Lisbon and Cascais.

However, I believe the Saldanha one is the best – not only because it is very central, but because they have a bigger variety, offering you several pieces of fusion sushi.

With the buffet, you’ll have a miso soup as a starter, and then a mix of sashimi, nigiri, uramaki, maki and hot rolls. The hot rolls here are amazing, so get ready to eat until you’re full!

Prices (excluding drinks)

Lunch: 14,90€ per person

Dinner: 18,90€ per person

Address: Avenida João Crisóstomo, 38A, Saldanha, Lisboa

Sushi Factory

Sushi Factory has been becoming more and more popular, especially among millennials! This is probably because it’s located in the trendy Lx Factory, an old factory complex now transformed into a hipster area.

Indeed, the space is amazing, very well decorated – I’d say it’s a bit grunge, to match with the Lx Factory overall vibe. I’d recommend you book first or go there early, as I had to wait more than one hour in the waiting list when I went there.

They give you a miso soup as a starter, as usual, and both cold and hot sushi. If you prefer fusion sushi, then this place is for you. It’s perfect for people who enjoy their rolls with a bit of sauce and an extra flavor.

The prices are the same as Sushisan:

Prices (excluding drinks)

Lunch: 14,90€ per person

Dinner: 18,90€ per person

Address: LX Factory, Rua Rodrigues Faria, 103, Edifício I, Piso 0, Espaço 0.1F, Alcântara, Lisboa
